As part of our mission to meet the needs of each and every young person, we now have a fantastic opportunity for SEN Teachers to join our close-knit community at SET Saxmundham School.
In September 2021 we will be extending our provision to include a brand new Interaction and Communication Centre, as well as a separate Cognition and Learning Centre. Both centres will support up to 18 Key Stage 3 & 4 students in Year 1, and 24 students from Year 2.
These centres are part of our mainstream provision facilitating personalised pathways for each student, enabling them to access as much of the mainstream curriculum as possible and realise their full potential. We envisage the classes in the centres having a maximum ratio of 9 students: 1 teacher and at least one HLTA/TA, although classes may well be smaller when students are accessing mainstream lessons.
You will be an experienced and qualified teacher who has the ability to make a significant contribution to our community and someone who is excited by the opportunity of being on this journey with us from day 1. Your experience of working in a SEN environment will be as important as your ambition for each and every child under your care.
You will be an innovative, reflective practitioner who can demonstrate the willingness to adapt and learn. You will have specialist knowledge and experience of working with children with additional needs. A SENCO qualification, or willingness to undertake this qualification with support from the Trust would be an advantage.
We are looking for individuals with a creative, engaging approach to curriculum design and planning, both within the classroom and also in the wider outdoor learning environment.
Closing date for applications: Monday 19 April 2021.
To Start – September 2021
We reserve the right to appoint prior to the closing date; please therefore submit your application early to avoid disappointment.
