SET Ixworth School is ‘an incredibly inclusive environment’ where ‘teaching is strong’ and ‘where pupils and teachers know each other extremely well.’ (OFSTED 2019).
As part of our mission to meet the needs of each and every young person, we now have a fantastic opportunity for two SEN teachers to join our close-knit Community at SET Ixworth School.
In September 2020 we will be extending our provision to include a brand new Interaction and Communication Centre for up to 18 Key Stage 3 students in Year 7 and 24 students from Year 8. This new centre will be part of our mainstream provision facilitating personalised pathways for each student.
You will be an experienced and qualified teacher who has the ability to make a significant contribution to our community and someone who is excited by the opportunity of being on this journey with us from day one. Your experience of working in an SEN environment will be as important as your ambition for each and every child under your care.
You will be an innovative, reflective practitioner who can demonstrate the willingness to adapt and learn. You will have specialist knowledge and experience of working with children with interaction and communication needs or those on the autism spectrum.
We are looking for individuals with a creative, engaging approach to curriculum design and planning, both within the classroom and also in the wider outdoor learning environment.
