SET Ixworth, Beccles and Saxmundham Schools, part of the Seckford Education Trust (SET), are inviting year 4 and 5 students and their guardians to summer open evening’s next month.

The schools, which provide secondary education for students aged 11 – 16, are organising open evenings, each taking place on Wednesday 09 June between 4:30pm – 7pm.

After the impact of the last 12 months and lockdowns SET schools will be offering COVID-secure in-school open evenings for a limited number of families, and additionally virtual open evenings – both of which can be booked via the school’s websites.

In-school visits include 1:1 meetings and tours with key staff with two time slots available: 16.30pm and 18.00pm. The interactive zoom session takes places at 18.00pm. Both events can be booked on the relevant schools’ website.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Barrow is delighted to invite students and their guardians to the schools.

He said: “I look forward to welcoming families to our schools this June so they can explore how to make a difference to their child’s future. The open evenings will give families the opportunity to get a feel for life at our schools, as they start thinking about the next important step in their child’s life, the move up to high school.

“We proud of the fact that each school is deliberately small which allows us to really know every student. A strong emphasis is placed on inclusion and pastoral care with the school environment being designed so pupils can discover their latent talents and academic potential.

Parents and guardians will get to see for themselves our welcoming learning community where we aim to provide a balanced, wide ranging education to inspire our students with a love of learning”.

Seckford Education Trust manages SET Ixworth School, SET Beccles School, SET Causton Junior School, SET Maidstone Infant School and SET Saxmundham School.

All SET Schools were borne out of the local community’s desire to have something different, with the number of students choosing to attend increasing steadily since opening. They are publicly funded state and open to local students irrespective of ability or need.

SET Beccles School, on Castle Hill in Beccles, provides secondary education for students aged 11 – 16 in the Beccles and Bungay area.
